This page is actually more for parents, or maybe you know the equipment and computer better than your parents? Perhaps it’s best to look at it together.
The camera you record your video on is not really important. Of course, higher quality is better, but any video is better than none at all! So any device for recording video can be used. The recording should be in landscape format. Your face should be the main thing on the screen. You say “Many Children – One World”, or the equivalent in Spanish, Chinese, Hindi… whatever your language is. And if you leave a few seconds at the beginning and before the end, that would be great! All clear? Then on to the next part …
Upload to YouTube …
Uploading a video to YouTube is not really so difficult. Go to the website www.YouTube.com. Click the “Upload” button at the top , then log in or create an account. Follow the instructions, and pretty soon your video will be uploaded. If it’s a bit too tricky, use your favourite search machine to find a simple tutorial. As soon as the video has been uploaded, you can give it a title and description. Filling in this information will make the video easy to find:
Title: Many Children – One World, Your Name (Your first name or nickname), Your Age (in English), Where you live (or the nearest big town) / Your country (both in English, if possible)
Description: The name of your language: (also in English, if possible) “Many Children – One World ” (and it’s best if you can write the words you spoke in your language, too). If you want to add a message, then you can write it in this box, too.
Now comes a field called Tags. This means keywords, to make searching easier. Here you can copy this list of words in green: Many Children – One World, peace, worldpeace, kids, children, art project, Frank Rosenzweig, children for peace, kids for peace,
Now you can choose a category. None really fit perfectly, but the category “Non-profits & Activism” is closest.
You’re all fantastic, and that’s why we don’t want to miss anybody out. And that’s why there is one final, important step. Please send us a message with the web address of your YouTube video. The easiest way to do this is to click on the button “Share” below your YouTube video. A small window will pop for sending an email. Copy this email address in the first box: firstname.lastname@example.org and click ‘Send E-Mail’. Finished! Yippee!!!
or send us an e-mail directly
If it’s too complicated with YouTube, or it doesn’t work for some reason or other, then you can simply send us your film in an email: email@example.com. (Now it gets a bit technical: High quality videos mustn’t be too long. The maximum file size for our inbox is 100 MB. And not everyone can send such large files. Try it out for yourself.) So that we can correctly upload your video, please write the following in the e-mail:
Your Name (first name or nickname), Your Age (in English), Where you live (or the nearest big town) / Your country (both in English, if possible) “Many Children – One World ” (and it’s best if you can write the words you spoke in your language, too). And, if you like, you can add a little message, too.
Really great!!! Thanks!
